Our client is on the lookout for a Highways Technical Leader for the Melbourne team where they already have a good number of highly capable engineers and project managers but lack the industry renowned leader to guide and develop this capability. A Highway lead would also be of interest in New South Wales and possibly Queensland but they are less established here in terms of local skills and workload so more of a mid term target.
Company is not a tier one firm in the Highways field but are rapidly expanding in Australia with a growing focus in Transport. They have a very good Asia Pacific reputation in delivering key infrastructure projects and great capabilities and resources they can use to bolster local teams. Another positive aspect is there are very good prospects for someone to become part of their shares/equity scheme and are widely reported to have one of the higher proportions of staff members in this.
The role does not have business development accountability, this is handled by client managers and the national transport lead who is well known throughout the market.
